Week of Nov. 8-12

We are off to a busy start this week!  Our letter for this week is Xx, and our sight word for this week is have.  Please review these with your children every day!  I will be sending home readers for your child to read to you.  Please fill out the slip and return the baggie, book, and slip on Thursday!  In the near future the books will have decodeable words in them; your child may need some help sounding out these words, but please challenge them to sound them out themselves!  They can do it!  Hope everyone has a great week!

Week of Nov. 1-5

This week our school is having a Book Fair in the library.  We visited today, and your children picked out several books they wanted.  On Tuesday and Thursday evening we are having parents night from 5:30-7:00.  Also, if you would like to send money to school with your children I will let them go get what they want sometime during the day.

On Wednesday, the little readers will be coming home for your child to read to you along with the slip for you to sign.  Please don't forget to return the booklets, slips and the baggies on Thursday!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Week of October 25-29

The story we will be reading this week from our reading series is "Friends All Around"  we will be discussing differences and similarities in our many friends.  We will begin blending letters together to read words!  For example:  (p)am and (m)ap.

On Wednesday I will be sending home a book with your child to read to you!  Please help your child with this and sign and return the slip included along with the booklet by Friday.  Your child should return the slip and the book in the baggie provided. (I will be reusing these books so don't throw them away!)

Our letters this week are:  /J/ /j/ and /H/ /h/

Our sight words this week are:  red & yellow

Our Theme Unit is Halloween; we will be doing fun halloween activities all week.  On Friday we will have our Halloween party and parade...more details to come.
